Wednesday March 7, 2007

Rocco Autero was invited by the Math and Computer Science department to speak about his educational and work experience as a programmer and international consultant.

Wednesday February 14, 2007

Picture of the Math Club members was taken to be placed on the website and Cyclops.

Math Baseball was conducted by Dr. Holiday.

Meeting time: 1:15 - 2:20 (65 minutes)

November 15 , 2006

Dr. Shier of Clemson University spoke on "Some Gems of Lanier Algebra"

New officers for the next semester were also elected:

President: Adam Thompson

Webmaster: Maryam Nourbakhsh

October 2006

Dr. Brad Bailey spoke on "Topological 'Sameness': Comparing Subspace of Real Spaces."

Doughnuts and beverages were served.

Meeting lasted 50 minutes, 21 attendees.

December 2004

Dr. Robert  Varley (U. of Georgia)  lectured on the Dirac Equation and opportunities for graduate studies at the University of Georgia.

Sandwiches from Subway were served.

November 2004

Michael Case presented REU PowerPoint on binary coded genetic algorithms.

Dr. Sinn took survey on those still interested in Joint Meetings.

Snacks were served.

October 2004

At the last meeting students were offered the chance to join the MAA.

Dr. Sinn discussed the possibility of taking a group of students to the MAA conference in Atlanta.

Dr. Green presented a variety of problems some of which went unsolved.

10 pizzas were purchased and fully consumed.

September 2004

Topics of Discussion:

Discussed possibilities for meetings including the following:

Type-setting tutorial. (Latex, PC-Tec,etc..)

Maple 9.5 Tutorial.

Genetic Algorithms in Operations Research  

Information on Attending graduate schools for mathematics and math education.
